The Australasian Skill Acquisition Network (ASAN) is an International network of scholars, practitioners, and coaches interested in the discipline of skill acquisition.
The mission statement of ASAN is “To promote research in skill acquisition in expertise, and sport performance in Australasia”. This is achieved through:
- Providing leadership to inform theory, practice, and policy
- Collaboration among and between scholars and practitioners
- Mentorship of emerging scholars and practitioners
- Development of students and practitioners
- Resource sharing (e.g., facilities, equipment, knowledge, populations)
History of ASAN
The Australasian Skill Acquisition Network (ASAN) was originally formed in 2007 under the name of the Australasian Skill Acquisition Research Group (ASARG) and held their first annual meeting at Victoria University (Melbourne, Australia).
